CM Punjab Assistive Devices and Wheelchair Program: Checkout Full Details

The Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has launched the Assistive Devices and Wheelchair Program in 2025 to support persons with disabilities (PWDs) throughout the province. This program is one of the largest of its kind in Pakistan and aims to improve the quality of life for PWDs by providing them with mobility aids free of cost.
Main Purpose of the Program
- Help disabled individuals move around easily.
- Support the inclusion of disabled people in society.
- Improve daily life and independence of persons with disabilities.
Devices Being Provided
Under this initiative, eligible persons will receive various assistive items based on their needs, including:
- Manual and powered wheelchairs
- Motorized wheelchairs
- Tricycles and specially designed tri-motorcycles
- Walking frames and rollators
- Mobile toilet chairs
- Pediatric wheelchairs (for children)
- Joystick-operated wheelchairs
- Hearing aids
- Artificial limbs, including advanced bionic prosthetics controlled by nerve signals
Budget for the Program
The government has allocated Rs. 1 billion for this scheme, making it the biggest assistive devices program in Pakistan’s history.
Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
To get benefits under this program, a person must:
- Have a valid CNIC or B-Form
- Own a Disability Certificate issued by the District Disability Assessment Board

Accessibility Improvements Across Punjab
The Punjab government has also instructed that all public places and government buildings must have wheelchair ramps to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Support through Himmat Card
Alongside this initiative, the Himmat Card has also been launched to provide financial aid. Eligible disabled persons receive Rs. 10,500 every 3 months to help cover their basic needs.
