The Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Program, launched by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to provide affordable housing to low-income families in Punjab. This initiative targets the construction of 100,000 houses over four and a half years, offering a blend of urban and rural housing solutions.
Benefits
- Affordable Housing: Provides homes at subsidized rates, with each unit costing PKR 1.5 million, where the government covers 60% of the cost, and the applicant pays 40% (PKR 600,000) in installments of PKR 26,000 over 5 years.
- Interest-Free Loans: Eligible families can access loans up to PKR 1.5 million, repayable over 7 years at PKR 14,000 per month, with a 3-month grace period for the first installments.
- Improved Living Standards: Enhances access to basic amenities like water, sanitation, and electricity, reducing overcrowding and slum dwelling.
- Economic Growth: This is expected to generate approximately 500,000 jobs through construction, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
Eligibility Criteria
- Residency: Applicant must be a permanent resident of Punjab with a valid CNIC.
- Income Level: Targets low-income families with a monthly income below PKR 50,000, prioritizing those living in rented or informal housing.
- Property Ownership: Must own a plot (up to 5 marlas in urban areas or 10 marlas in rural areas) and not own any other property.
- Family Status: Applicant must be the head of the family as per NADRA records.
- Clean Record: No criminal record or history of defaulting on bank loans.

Online Application

- Click on the “Register” button at the top right corner.
- Fill out the citizen registration form with your full name, CNIC number, father’s name, gender, email, mobile number, and location details (district, tehsil, city).
- Create a secure password for your account.
- Upload required documents: CNIC, proof of property ownership, and proof of monthly income (e.g., salary slips or bank statements).
- Submit the application and note your login details to track your status later.
Offline Application
- Visit the registration desk at your district’s Deputy Commissioner Office.
- Carry all required documents (CNIC, proof of property, income proof).
- Submit your application in person.
